Amy Thorstad

6th Grade Teacher

Amy Thorstad is Holy Spirit School’s 6th Grade teacher. She graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a B.S. in Biopsychology (she also has a degree in Nutrition, Health and Fitness and Public Speaking). She has taught on and off in public schools since 1990, and this year “took a leap of faith” to come to Holy Spirit, an environment she feels better aligns with her values. She has enjoyed getting to know her students, their parents, and her fellow teachers!

Mrs. Thorstad enjoys teaching fitness classes and is also a personal trainer. She has traveled extensively, working at orphanages and schools in poverty-stricken areas. A highlight of her life was meeting Mother Teresa in Calcutta, India on Christmas Eve in 1993.
