Art Club
The Holy Spirit School Art Club, led by Mr. Antonio Escobedo, meets once a week after school and offers students the opportunity to explore the arts in greater depth than is possible during the regular school day.
Art Club is designed for students passionate about painting, drawing, and sculpting who want to expand their creativity through guided projects and personal expression. Beyond learning technique, the club encourages exploration and experimentation, providing a positive emotional outlet where students can express themselves in a supportive community.
Members of the Art Club work with a variety of mediums and tools, including:
- Canvas painting with acrylics and watercolors
- Watercolor pencils and fine art brushes of various styles
- Clay projects, including sculpture and pottery
- Specialty supplies and personal tool kits are provided to each student to keep
Projects in the Art Club often go beyond what is possible in the regular art classroom, introducing intermediate and advanced techniques. Students will create multi-step works such as layered canvas paintings, sculptural forms, and mixed-media pieces.
In addition, students learn the value of patience, craftsmanship, and collaboration as they share ideas and display their finished work throughout the school. Each session is designed to nurture artistic skills, self-confidence, and an appreciation for creativity that students will carry with them long after the school year ends.
Art Club meets once a week after school. The fee is $30 per week, which includes all art supplies and materials. Enrollment is limited to 20 students only, and spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
