Fine Arts

At Holy Spirit School, students receive dedicated arts instruction once a week. Depending on grade level, art classes range from 30 to 55 minutes. The program is designed to build skills progressively, ensuring students grow in both their technical ability and creative confidence as they advance.

Kindergarten – 3rd Grade

Students are introduced to the fundamentals of art through lessons on the basic color wheel, shapes, and hand-eye coordination. They gain familiarity with various art tools and materials, building a strong foundation for future creativity.

4th – 5th Grade

Students explore more intermediate techniques, deepening their understanding of the color wheel while developing object and spatial awareness. They also learn how to apply contrast and shading to bring greater depth to their artwork.

6th – 8th Grade

Students engage in advanced art projects that challenge their creativity and technical skills. Lessons include fine arts, abstract approaches, and an introduction to digital media, preparing them to use art as both expression and communication.

As students progress through the curriculum, they develop not only the ability to create art but also the capacity to understand and appreciate it - an enrichment that supports their growth across all academic and personal endeavors.
