Debbie Cassella
3rd Grade Teacher
Debbie Cassella is the 3rd Grade teacher at Holy Spirit. Mrs. Cassella grew up in Northern Indiana and received her M.S. in Education from Indiana University. She also holds several graduate certificates from Ball State, Chico, and Brandman University. She and her husband moved to California 8 years ago to help their oldest daughter (one of four children) with her three (of four) grandchildren. She joined the staff at Holy Spirit in 2018 and loves " the family feeling" of the school and watching "the children grow and become successful young men and women." Mrs. Cassella describes her philosophy as follows:
"I believe that each child is precious, and it is my job to learn from them. Everyone has a different way of learning. I work hard to get to know my students and find ways to help them learn. I always try to be flexible, and the student’s well-being is more important to me than a grade. I have high standards and my goal is to find ways to help them achieve these standards."
3rd Grade takes quite a few special field trips during the year – they go to Rush Ranch, visit the mayor of Fairfield, visit a planetarium, and attend AG Day at the Solano County fairgrounds. The last two years, the class has corresponded with third graders at a Catholic School in France!
